Aircraft Cleaner

Our Cleaners play an important part in creating the important first impression when you get on an Air New Zealand aircraft. They are responsible for cleaning the interior of the aircraft as soon as it arrives at the gate and making sure it is presented back to our high standards in a very short timeframe so that we can have the next flight leave on time. It is a very team orientated role, with each person being responsible for their individual tasks.

Customer Service Agents

Our Customer Service Agents are the welcoming face of our check-in experience and manage the customer experience through to the departure gates. There are a number of additional specialisms such as Ticketing, Baggage Tracing, Service Control and our Airport Operations Centres.

Holiday Hosts

A Holiday Host is part of our customer service team as casual employees who assist in peak periods primarily to perform unaccompanied minors' duties, provide special assistance, and meet and greet our customers to enhance their overall airport experience.

Loader

As a Loader, you will ensure that our customers’ bags are handled securely and arrive on time. It is a physically demanding role with a lot of heavy lifting involved. With aircraft taking off and landing throughout the day you'll always be kept busy. Our loaders work both indoors and outdoors and within this role you will take on a number of tasks that can include aircraft cleaning, driving and working with a variety of aircraft and different types of equipment.

Team Manager

Our Team Managers are responsible for supervising and managing our people within various roles across the operation. Whether you are managing front of house or back of house, you are responsible for small to medium-sized teams. Team Managers are shift workers and will be aligned to a shift with their people, managing their day-to-day performance, developing our frontline and operational workforce. Many of our Team Managers are promoted from within our operational teams ensuring they have the operational knowledge and great relationships with stakeholders across the business.

Application

Once you have completed your application we will assess your skills and experience against the requirements of the position.

Digital interview

Depending on the role, you may be required to complete a digital interview which involves answering pre-set questions in short-form video format, giving you an opportunity to expand on your skills and experience.

Recruitment event

If your application is successful, you will be invited to attend a Recruitment Event where you will receive more information on the role and have the opportunity to meet with Airports team managers and other applicants.  

Vetting

You will be required to complete a number of security, medical and reference checks.

Offer of employment

Once you have passed the vetting process, you will be asked to join the Air New Zealand whānau.

What to expect when you start 

Airports are highly regulated and security-sensitive environments so you’ll need to complete intensive training before you begin your role. Once you’ve started, you’ll experience the buzz of working in an airport. There’s never a quiet moment, whether you start at 3pm or 2am. You may find yourself getting quite a workout too. Our team can walk up to 10 kilometres in a shift, and Loaders can load more than 1,000 bags per hour. Whatever your role, you’ll be welcomed by your team members and quickly become part of the Air New Zealand whanau.
