Facilities Manager - Christchurch

To support this, we have a permanent position for a Facilities Manager within our Properties & Infrastructure team, this role will be based in Christchurch.  Please note that there is an element of out of hours work in this role.

In this role you will ensure Air New Zealand's leased and owned buildings are fit for service and can be utilised to deliver business objectives, while maintaining compliance, effective maintenance, and exceptional customer service for internal and external customers.

Other skills and experience include:

  • Manage facilities costs, revenue to budgets and forecasts.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to the delivery of facilities management services to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Strong contractor management including remote management.
  • Complete and monitor Annual Property Maintenance Inspections including R & M and capital works projects to assist in setting annual budgets and to ensure property is of sufficient standard and plans are made to rectify issues.
  • Keep all documentation of maintenance procedures, processes and systems (including BCP plan) up to date and ensure they are implemented and adhered to, to enable effective delivery of business requirements and customer service.
  • Co-ordinate the optimal delivery of scheduled maintenance items to ensure delivery to schedule and budget with least interruption to service including minor Opex and capexl projects.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure delivery of reactive R&M works in a timely manner, ensuring business continuity.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety standards especially in contractor management.
  • Maintain and develop contractor supplier relationships to ensure cost efficient service, best practices and high quality service delivery.  

We are looking for someone with in-depth knowledge of building compliance, systems and procedures as well as a commitment to on-going maintenance of professional standards. You'll need to be decisive and have energy and motivation to be effective in a very demanding customer facing environment. Ideally you will also have a relevant tertiary, NZCE, or trade qualification in a related field. You will be passionate about adding value and providing an exceptional service to Air New Zealand internal and external customers.
