Manager Security

As part of this work, we now have an opportunity available for a Manager Security to join our Security & Resilience team.

About the role:

Our team incorporates Security, Emergency Management, Business Continuity and Intelligence and Geopolitical Risk. We are responsible for the security and safety of our people, assets, reputation, brand and global operation. The Manager Security manages a team of 8 security and intelligence professionals to ensure that we accurately posture and balance our security measures to mitigate threats to our operations across our international and domestic network.  We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude who can thrive as an accomplished and empowered leader to champion security across Air NZ and aviation industry partners.    

The security team is closely aligned with numerous aviation authorities around the world. We collaborate with all areas of the business to support a range of innovative business opportunities, raising security awareness to build a positive security culture across the airline where everyone plays their part. We utilise international best practice and apply an innovative approach that champions aviation security regulatory compliance alongside our enterprise security responsibilities.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Senior security professional experience, from both government and commercial environments, with exceptional confidence as a subject matter expert
  • Demonstrable experience leading and developing high performing teams to achieve their full potential
  • Proven team task management and planning abilities
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or certifications applicable to security and risk management
  • Experience in the practical application of security risk management methodologies to enable and support the delivery of security solutions
  • Proven success in fostering productive stakeholder relationships at all levels of an enterprise
  • High level analytical skills and competencies to understand and manage the impact and sensitivity of security issues

  • Experience working within strict legal regulatory frameworks
