Marketing Technology Specialist

Kia ora!

Air New Zealand is in the midst of an exciting and ambitious marketing technology transformation. With recent investments in next-generation platforms like Hightouch for real-time customer data activation and a new communication platform for personalised, cross-channel communications, we're fundamentally reimagining how we connect with our customers.

Over the coming years, AI will play a pivotal role in shaping how we optimise journeys, automate decisions, and deliver value at every touchpoint. We're building a future-ready Martech function, and we need innovative, AI-curious thinkers who are excited to explore emerging capabilities, from predictive decisioning to generative content and marketing automation powered by machine learning.

If you're passionate about customer experience, deeply curious about AI and motivated to work at the intersection of data, creativity, and technology - alongside a fun, driven, slightly quirky team of highly talented humans - we’d love to have you onboard.

What this role means to us:

As an Intermediate Martech Specialist at Air New Zealand, you'll be at the heart of enabling world-class, data-driven marketing.

You’ll serve as a superuser of our key platforms (Hightouch and our new email platform) and will provide platform support, training, documentation and troubleshooting for the wider team. You will also contribute to the build of scalable data products, ensuring our marketing activity is both technically sound and insight-driven.

This is an execution-focused role that combines technical acumen with excellent communication skills, ideal for someone who is proactive, collaborative, and keen to grow their Martech and data expertise.

Essential skills and experience for the role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant business, analytical, or technology discipline
  • 3-5 years in Martech, marketing operations, or data-driven marketing role
  • Hands-on experience with campaign platforms (e.g. Braze, Acoustic, Marketo etc)
  • Exposure to CDPs such as Hightouch, Segment, or Tealium
  • Exposure to adjacent technology such as CMS, App etc
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (SQL, Python, or similar)
  • Knowledge of marketing best practices, data legislation & governance and customer lifecycle automation
  • Strong documentation and training delivery capabilities
  • Interest or early experience with AI in marketing (e.g. predictive targeting, generative content, journey optimisation tools, marketing decisioning)
  • Familiarity with tools or techniques like prompt engineering, OpenAI, or machine learning-based personalisation platforms
  • Experience or interest in networking/cyber security is desirable but not necessary.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Detail-oriented with a love for system optimisation
  • Curious and eager to learn from both technical and marketing perspectives
  • Able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Highly collaborative team player
  • Passionate about improving customer communications through smart tech
  • Inquisitive mindset with a strong desire to explore how AI can improve marketing effectiveness
  • Enthusiastic about experimenting with new tools and sharing learnings

Please submit an updated resume (cover letter not required) indicating your reason for applying and how your skills and experience match the role requirements.

Applications close 19th September 2025.
