As the Ramp Services Manager, you will be a key member of the Airport Management Team, reporting directly to the Melbourne Airport Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to optimize the performance of our ground handling operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment, whilst building a collaborative relationship within the Airport community to drive safety and sustainability initiatives You will lead and manage all ramp resources, operational procedures, and processes to exceed customer service and regulatory standards. Representing Air New Zealand at relevant Airport Company forums. The role requires travel around the Australian region and may require a flexible approach to working hours in a dynamic operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mange third party suppliers, driving a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
- Foster high engagement and retention among suppliers and contractors.
- Manage and optimize ramp resources to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Influence and collaborate with a range of suppliers across the airport precinct and wider Australian Ports.
- Balance a diverse workload in a demanding environment, remaining calm and professional.
- Lead, motivate, and coach a diverse team of contractors and suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party suppliers and key decision-makers.
- Contribute to the overall change process and strategic planning of the business.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven management and leadership skills with the ability to lead, manage, and motivate a diverse team.
- Extensive operational knowledge and experience within the airline industry.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to gain credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to drive performance and influence key decision-makers.
- Commitment to teamwork and sharing of information and experience.
- Confidence in relationship building and influencing others to achieve results.
- Strong commercial acumen, particularly in supplier management.
- Experience in contributing to the planning of a complex business as part of a management team.
- Ability to travel on request across Australia and New Zealand to support, as well as supporting Ramp and Customer Service operations
