Senior Brand Strategist (Specialist) - 12m Fixed Term Contract
Kia ora!
Help shape the future of one of New Zealand’s most iconic brands.
Air New Zealand’s brand is one of our most valuable assets - not just a logo or a campaign, but a deeply embedded expression of who we are and what we stand for. We're on the lookout for an exceptional Senior Brand Strategist to join our team on a 12-month parental leave cover. This is a unique opportunity to take on a senior role within our Brand Strategy function as part of our wider Brand Centre of Excellence, working within a high performing team and helping drive the strategic direction of the Air New Zealand brand, helping to bring our strategy to life across the organisation and around the world.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the way in delivering and embedding our brand strategy both internally and externally, with real impact on our people and our global passengers.
- Be a brand guardian, ensuring the brand is understood, championed, and consistently executed across every touchpoint - from global campaigns to the physical brand experience.
- Take the reins on high-profile brand initiatives that could range from internal strategy integration to hero brand moments like Safety Videos and Christmas, to global brand partnerships, brand identity work, and more. No two days will be the same.
- Partner across the business to create integrated brand solutions, helping teams turn complex challenges into clear, brand-aligned experiences and marketing strategies.
- Support the embedding of our brand strategy in offshore markets, including Australia, Asia and North America, ensuring relevance and resonance with local audiences.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re after someone who’s as passionate about brands as they are about people. You’ll need to be:
- A self-starter with strong strategic instincts and the ability to confidently navigate ambiguity and complexity.
- Significant experience working on a wide spectrum of brand initiatives - from brand strategy, communications and campaign development to experiential activations and partnerships.
- Project Management leadership – ability to drive and lead multiple projects at once.
- An experienced people leader and collaborator, able to inspire and influence teams across a large and fast-paced organisation.
- Ability to build relationships quickly across departments and organisations to support the strongest outcomes.
- Comfortable operating at pace, with resilience and adaptability in a dynamic aviation environment.
- Equipped with experience (or openness to) supporting brand strategy rollouts in global markets
- Someone who thrives on big thinking but also knows how to turn vision into execution.
Why join us?
Air New Zealand is in a dynamic period of growth and transformation. You’ll be part of a purpose-led organisation with big ambitions, and you’ll have the chance to make a tangible impact on how our brand shows up in Aotearoa and beyond. You’ll be supported by a passionate team and opportunities to grow your career while doing work that matters. Help us write the next chapter in the Air New Zealand brand story.
