Senior Manager Group Resilience

Air New Zealand are seeking the next Senior Manager Group Resilience to enhance and lead the strategic direction of our company-wide operational security and resilience. This role will involve integrating threat and vulnerability analysis, proactive risk management, and developing innovative training solutions. You'll guide the continuous improvement of our Resilience Management System, ensuring we meet both regulatory and corporate responsibilities.

This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to the Chief Operational Integrity & Safety Officer, and leading a talented team of security, emergency response, and resilience specialists.

Key responsibilities:

  • Align Group Resilience outcomes with Air New Zealand's strategic objectives.
  • Oversee operational security governance and provide strategic direction.
  • Develop and implement corporate security and emergency management strategies.
  • Facilitate enterprise-wide risk assessments and monitor key risks.
  • Lead the development and delivery of high-quality training materials.
  • Manage and forecast the yearly budget, ensuring cost control.
  • Represent Air New Zealand at key regulatory bodies and maintain compliance with security regulations.
  • Hold the Senior Person Security role on behalf of the CAA.
  • Foster relationships with key government and industry stakeholders.

About you:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ broad security experience in similar roles with police, military, airline, or another similar industry.
  • Recognized ISO qualifications in Security, Resilience, and Quality Management Systems.
  • Proven ability to lead change management across diverse, multi-skilled teams.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in high tempo, dynamic environments.
  • Integrity and trustworthiness to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make decisions with limited information.

Preferred:

  • Aviation sector experience would be beneficial, although not essential.
  • Additional skill set in intelligence, security, or resilience.
