Senior Systems Analyst

Our Airline Operations Chapter is looking for a Senior System Analyst who has a good technical focus and is able to understand different platforms and the integration aspects used across a number of operational facing systems.

This role will be reporting to the Chapter Lead of Systems Analysts supporting and responsible for the analysis, documentation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring the integration of various operational, safety and mission critical business applications.

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate your technical analytical skillsets which include technologies such as Cloud components e.g AWS, Azure as well as other integration platforms, a 'can do' attitude for investigating and troubleshooting user and system issues.

 

Primary responsibilities of a Senior System Analyst:  

  • Supporting Airline Operations safety and mission critical applications, integrations, investigating issues and providing on-call rostered support 24x7 (Airport Campus based)
  • Analyse complex applications and systems and recommend changes that address business issues and facilitate improvements in system efficiency, functionality, cost efficiency and performance. 
  • Provides leadership, and performs a variety of complex analysis, technical direction, and coordination. Act as a subject matter expert and provide technical knowledge and expertise to the business to ensure all technical solutions fulfil business objective and issues can be resolved
  • Responsible for the successful resolution of application issues/bugs, and the ability to quickly adapt, understand, explain, and plan complex, multi-departmental projects from both the high and detailed task level
  • Reviewing requirements and deriving technical solutions
  • Design and develop functional specification design and business cases to ensure business requirements are understood and systems meet current and future requirements.
  • Interact closely with a wide range of Product, development and testing teams
  • Manage and monitor system maintenance and make recommendations for improvements to ensure system performance is optimal

 

The successful candidate will: 

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering or analytical roles supporting production systems in highly available, scalable environments.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with system integration platforms and modern CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale distributed systems, microservices-based architectures, and serverless applications.
  • Ability to diagnose complex infrastructure and application issues using logs, traces, and metrics. Applies structured troubleshooting methodologies under pressure.
  • Have experience of Cloud - Azure, AWS (including services like EC2, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, etc), and Other Platforms - Splunk, Linux, APIs, Mule, Kafka
  • Have experience in building dashboards and alerts using tools like Splunk, Cloudwatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Demonstrate self-initiative, the ability to work without direct supervision, under pressure and a thirst for knowledge.
  • Airline experience is advantageous
