Tribe Digital Lead

As a Tribe Digital Lead, you will play a pivotal role in Air New Zealand’s journey to become the best digital airline in the world. Partnering closely with the Unit Lead, you will shape and deliver our digital strategy, ensuring it aligns with business goals and enables transformation.

Your focus will be on leading digital change for Engineering & Maintenance or one of the Operational Areas, helping teams unlock value from new ways of working, emerging technologies, and smarter delivery practices.

What You Will Bring

  • Data & AI awareness: A solid understanding of data and AI trends, platforms, and practical applications, with the ability to recognise where they can add value. Experience applying these capabilities to real business challenges would be an advantage.
  • Proven leadership: Experience leading large teams across diverse functions, with the ability to motivate, coach, and create an inclusive, outcome-focused culture.
  • Delivery expertise: knowledge of digital delivery approaches, ideally with hands-on experience in Agile environments.
  • Operational/engineering insight: Experience in operational or engineering domains, or in environments with high levels of complexity and safety focus, would be highly valuable.
  • Strong communication: Ability to bridge technical and business worlds, making complex concepts simple and engaging for different audiences.
  • Adaptability & resilience: Comfortable navigating ambiguity, rolling up your sleeves, and guiding teams through dynamic environments.
  • Strategic execution: Experience in setting digital priorities, managing dependencies, and measuring outcomes through KPIs and metrics.
  • Mindset of curiosity and innovation: A desire to experiment, learn, and help teams embrace change.
