Workforce Planner

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Workforce Planners to join our Workforce Management team, with a variety of roles available.  As a Workforce Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient utilisation of the ground-based operational business units we serve (Airports & Maintenance), enabling us to meet our operational objectives while maintaining exceptional service levels. 

The roles available include:

  • Workforce Planner – Permanent
  • Workforce Planner (Leave) – Permanent
  • Workforce Planner (Leave) – 12-month Fixed Term

Day to day your role will involve:

  • Develop and implement workforce planning & leave strategies to align staffing levels with business demands and maximise operational efficiency. 
  • Analyse historical data, industry trends, and future projections to forecast workforce requirements accurately. 
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Operational Leadership teams, our Training organisations, HR & Recruitment, Digital, Networks, Commercial and Finance, to understand business goals, constraints, and budgetary considerations. 
  • Design and maintain staffing models that incorporate key factors such as overtime, shift patterns, training planning and leave management. 
  • Monitor real-time data and performance metrics to identify potential staffing gaps or surpluses and proactively make necessary adjustments. 
  • Conduct regular capacity planning analysis to ensure the right number of resources are available at the right time, avoiding both overstaffing and understaffing situations. 
  • Work closely with recruitment teams to support talent acquisition efforts, including workforce forecasting, hiring projections, and onboarding strategies. 
  • Collaborate with training and development teams to ensure continuous skill development and cross-training opportunities, enabling flexibility within the workforce. 
  • Provide insightful reports and recommendations to senior management on workforce trends, productivity, and cost-saving initiatives. 

Qualifications: 

  • Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related discipline. 
  • Proven experience in workforce management, preferably in the aviation industry or a related field. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and leverage data effectively. 
  • Proficiency in workforce management tools and software. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management. 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset. 
  • Familiarity with relevant labour laws, contractual requirements, regulations, and best practices.
