Aircraft Mechanic - LAX

Air New Zealand Aircraft Maintenance & Delivery (AMD) is seeking an experienced and motivated A&P Aircraft Mechanic to join our team at LAX, USA. You’ll be responsible for performing inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs to ensure our fleet operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.

This full-time permanent role (4x10 hour roster) is integral to keeping our aircraft airworthy in line with Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand, FAA, and international aviation standards.

As an A&P Mechanic working in our Line Maintenance environment, you will play an important operational role. You will perform line maintenance, rectification and modification on Air New Zealand and customer aircraft against manufacturer and company requirements. You’ll also have the opportunity to work on B777 and B787 wide body aircraft. 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Read, interpret and follow instructions laid down in technical literature such as AMM, IPC, SRM, WDM, MEL and CMM as well as complete all documentation and reporting requirements to airworthiness and company standards
  • Ensuring all maintenance is carried out in accordance with aircraft technical data within a timely manner
  • Completing all documentation and reporting requirements in accordance with Company policy
  • Ensuring your contribution allows our performance to meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Complying with Service and Occupational Health and Safety Standards
  • Ensure conformance with practices and procedures covering the maintenance of aircraft with the objective of promoting the highest achievable standards
  • Support the airline goals for on time performance.

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold a valid and current FAA A&P Licence
  • Have relevant Aircraft Maintenance experience
  • Have awareness of corporate occupational, health and safety responsibilities and procedures
  • Can work well within timelines and with minimal supervision with a positive attitude
  • Be a highly customer-focused team worker with flexibility and willingness to undertake other reasonable duties as required
  • Have sound communication skills, both written and verbal with great attention to detail.
