Cargo Terminal Manager

Air New Zealand have an exciting position of Cargo Terminal Manager within our Christchurch Cargo Operations Team. 

We are looking to appoint a Cargo Terminal Manager to lead our operational shifts in Christchurch. We're looking for strong leadership capability and good operational and regulatory understanding.

You will lead the operation across both International and Domestic services and hold accountability for resourcing, cost & revenue, health & safety, procurement, customers and people management.

You will be responsible for:

• Providing leadership, coaching and direction to employees to create a high performing team and standards
• Managing daily cargo operations shifts to ensure the movement of cargo in a safe and efficient manner, optimisation of space utilization and revenue generation, and to ensure achievement of on time performance and cost objectives
• Developing and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external teams
• Actively ensuring the safety and security of all people, assets, systems and procedures
• Contributing to the timely and cost-effective delivery of projects that meet stakeholders’ needs and requirements

What you will bring to the role:

• You'll need a continuous improvement mindset and will play a key role in projects, HPE initiatives and ensuring daily operational efficiency
• Experience in a leadership role such as a team leader position
• Experience within the air transportation or freight industry preferred
• Experience working with leading a diverse team
