Senior Product Manager - Payments

Air New Zealand is on an accelerated journey to deliver the best flying experience on Earth. As we accelerate our transformation of the customer experience, we’re looking for a Senior Product Manager - Payments to lead the evolution of how our customers pay.

 

About the Role

This is an important role that combines product strategy, commercial acumen and technical depth across different segments. You’ll define the roadmap for Air New Zealand’s payment products, driving initiatives that simplify and elevate how customers pay while delivering measurable business value.

This role will lead our payments strategy across the Airline, ensuring we realise benefits from a recent platform modernisation and remain at the forefront of global payments innovations.

About you

You’ll bring extensive experience in product management, ideally within payments, banking and financial services, or open banking. You’re equally comfortable developing long-term product strategy and rolling up your sleeves to deliver across multiple teams and platforms.

Key experience we’re looking for includes:

  • Demonstrated technical acumen across complex, integrated platforms, and a hands-on approach working deeply with cross-functional squads
  • Proven ability to develop and execute impactful product strategies that deliver customer and commercial value
  • Demonstrates strong commercial acumen, with experience identifying and leveraging market opportunities to drive product profitability and achieve business outcomes
  • A unique balance of vision and pragmatism. We want someone who will push the envelope and work with delivery teams to get value to our customers quickly.
  • A proven track record of taking ownership, creating product visions and strategies, and delivering meaningful outcomes
  • Confident navigating ambiguity and prioritising for maximum business and customer impact
  • Strong storytelling capability, championing product outcomes, strategy and roadmaps across diverse partners including technical, commercial, operations and external
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with credibility across senior leadership
