Jet Maintenance Operations Centre Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join our Jet Maintenance Operations Centre Team. Our Maintenance Operations Centre Engineers play a pivotal part in keeping our fleet safely flying and are responsible for monitoring Air New Zealand’s on-line fleet operation from a maintenance perspective and are accountable for ensuring compliance is maintained by initiating outcomes to achieve this.

This role will work a rotating shift roster based in the Air New Zealand Integrated Operations Centre in Auckland. We are on the hunt for an Engineer who enjoys the unpredictability and challenge of the operational environment.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Proactively monitor fleet operations, initiating timely maintenance solutions to minimise disruptions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to quickly address and resolve real-time aircraft maintenance issues
  • Contribute directly to on-time performance (OTP) by ensuring efficient fleet utilisation
  • Manage defect rectification efficiently, ensuring our aircraft meet the highest safety and compliance standards
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across the business, coordinating efforts to maintain operational excellence

 Ideally you will have:

  • Completed an Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent trade qualification
  • An Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence with Mechanical and/or Avionic approvals
  • Certification privileges on A320, 787, and 777 Aircraft (two or more highly desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of NZ Civil Aviation Authority regulations and other relevant aviation standards
  • Experience in Line Station or Line Maintenance environments is advantageous
