Chapter Lead People Safety (Assurance)

As Chapter Lead People Safety (Assurance), you will be at the centre of our People Safety Centre of Excellence. You will guide a high-performing team, embed assurance practices, and bring bold thinking to strengthen how we manage risk in a complex, high-profile environment. About the role

  • Provide visible and effective leadership of HSEW systems, assurance processes, and best practice
  • Build capability within the People Safety – Assurance chapter and grow the competence of chapter members
  • Act as craft lead for People Safety (Assurance) specialists, maintaining the craft description, contribution model, and game plan
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Chapter Leads, and Agile Coaches to lift the performance of the People Safety CoE
  • Strengthen relationships with senior leaders, managers, unions, regulators, and industry bodies
  • Drive innovation, cultural change, and continuous improvement to embed a high-performance safety culture
  • Provide expert HSEW systems and assurance advice to leaders and ensure the right people and skills are in place to meet future needs.

What you’ll bring

  • Significant senior-level experience in a complex airline or operational environment
  • Proven expertise in Health and Safety systems, legislation, and assurance processes
  • Strong leadership experience, with a track record of building capability and cohesive teams
  • Advanced skills in risk management methodologies, safety data systems, and performance analysis
  • Professional standing aligned to HASANZ/INSHPO frameworks, or equivalent experience
  • High resilience, adaptability, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Experience with Agile business structures and change leadership in large organisations.
