Financial Accountant

Air New Zealand has a clear and compelling strategy to deliver improved business performance resulting in sustainable, profitable growth across the Air New Zealand Group. We are seeking a talented Financial Accountant to join our dynamic Group Shared Services team.  

In this role, you will be responsible for reconciling, analysing, identifying and resolving root cause issues to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.   You will be a subject matter expert in the accounting and finance processes you are responsible for, using continuous improvement methodologies to drive improvements and efficiencies.  

We expect you to bring the technical skills and ability to deliver great results, but more importantly, this role requires a consultative approach to build effective relationships and confidence to provide advice and support to our financial & non-financial stakeholders. 

Essential Skills & Experience for the role 

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification. 
  • Preferred qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualification. 
  • Experience from recognised Chartered Account or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience from recognised Chartered Accounting firm or commercial experience within a large complex organisation. 
  • Proven experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the orgasniation. 
  • Analytical and continuous improvement mindset. 
  • Experience using Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Microsoft Power BI) would be an advantage. 
  • You will be a strong communicator, both written and oral, and enjoy interacting with people across a broad spectrum of the organisation. 
  • Innovative and adaptable to change.
