GSE & Tooling - Project Consultant (Asset Review)

About Us:

Air New Zealand's Ground Support Equipment (GSE) & Tooling team plays a significant part in contributing to the achievement of Air New Zealand's commercial and operational goals through On-Time Performance, Safety, and Operational Excellence. Our primary purpose is to ensure the safety of our people and environment, while delivering GSE and tooling solutions to our key stakeholders. The Opportunity:

We have a 12-month Fixed Term opportunity for two skilled practitioners to join our Auckland or Christchurch based teams where you would support delivery of a strategically important project aligned with our GSE and tooling portfolio. This is a dynamic role, with opportunity to engage with a wide cross section of our organisation, connect with external suppliers and work alongside other passionate team members. What you’ll get involved with:

You will support key projects that ensure business needs are successfully met through on-time, on budget, safe and right-first time delivery of outcomes to the operation. You will develop working relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders; ensuring effective communication is in place, requirements are understood, and target outcomes are delivered. You’ll also support the implementation of GSE strategy and process improvement goals to help drive improved delivery approaches. To be successful in this role: This role requires effective time management and prioritisation to meet project milestones, strong problem-solving skills, a willingness to get involved and be outcomes focused with excellent attention to detail. Experience in delivering successful project outcomes is desirable, along with being a self-starter.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience in the aviation industry or an equally highly regulated industry
  • Technical or engineering background with knowledge of Ground Support Equipment or tooling
  • Proficient communication style and a degree of commercial acumen
  • The ability to identify key stakeholders and lead meetings
  • Working knowledge of process improvement practices
  • Ability to identify with the company vision and delivery of strategic direction
  • Ability to thrive in an environment of ambiguity and have an interest in safety management
  • Ability to work with commercially sensitive and confidential information exercising discretion
