Intermediate Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Intermediate Quality Assurance Engineer (QA) to join our dynamic team at Air New Zealand. This role is vital to ensuring that our technical teams deliver high-quality solutions that align with our core values of excellence and customer focus. As a QA Engineer, you will apply your expertise in both test automation and manual testing to help enhance our testing capabilities and ensure the highest standards of quality across our software delivery process.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Use agile methods (KANBAN, SCRUM) throughout the development process.
  • Design, develop, and execute automation scenarios based on requirements.
  • Maintain and monitor existing automation and regression testing.
  • Apply software engineering principles to test engineering.
  • Guide the team through test analysis, design, planning, and execution.
  • Identify defects and assist in their resolution.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to diagnose issues and enhance software design.
  • Ensure tests adhere to established processes, standards, and guidelines.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of QA experience with a focus on test automation.
  • Strong experience with Java automation frameworks, CI/CD, test-driven development, and testing technologies.
  • Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Rest Assured, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Solid understanding of technical stacks (Restful APIs, SOAP APIs, databases, SQL, Kafka).
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, best practices, and toolsets.
  • Proven experience working collaboratively with software product teams.
