Learning Facilitator

Kia ora!

Equip our air crew with skills that ensure safety, confidence, and exceptional customer experiences at every altitude.

At Air New Zealand, we connect friends and whānau across Aotearoa and the world. As an Aircrew Trainer on a 12-month fixed-term contract in our high-performing Standards & Training team, you'll deliver crucial training programmes, ensuring our air crew and pilots operate to the highest safety and service standards. After recently being voted New Zealand’s most attractive employer, Air New Zealand continues to earn global recognition for its great culture, outstanding customer service, and world-class innovation. Join us to reach your full potential with the support of our whānau.

While this is primarily a ground-based training role, from time to time you’ll be required to operate as a Flight Attendant to maintain recency and connection with the onboard experience. Applicants who are fully qualified as cabin crew within the last five years will be preferred.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Deliver engaging Safety, Service, and Emergency training programmes including Recurrent, New Intake, Transition, Upgrade, and Premium Service training
  • Facilitate Initial and Recurrent Emergency Procedures training
  • Operate and deliver training using advanced simulators including Airbus and 787 Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainers (CEETs) and the Fire Trainer
  • Collaborate closely with subject matter experts, the Learning Experience team, and operational leaders to continuously improve training materials and content
  • Evaluate crew performance, provide constructive feedback, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and Air New Zealand’s safety policies
  • This role operates on a full-time, ground-based schedule of 40 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday. The usual hours of work are 0830–1700, however, flexibility is essential, and early starts, late finishes and weekend work may be required to support operational needs.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience delivering aviation training, ideally in cabin crew, aircrew, or operational environments
  • Proficient with Outlook, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
  • Strong understanding and practical application of adult learning principles within regulated and safety-critical industries
  • Coaching or mentoring experience in training or operational settings
  • NZQA Unit Standard 4098 and recognised Instructional Techniques qualification (or willingness to attain)
  • Excellent facilitation, organisational, and communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aviation regulations, Safety Management Systems (SMS), and compliance framework
  • Ability to objectively assess competencies and provide impactful feedback
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and teamwork.

If you meet the majority of the criteria and are excited by the opportunity, we’d love to hear from you.
