Maintenance Operations Centre (MOC) – Turboprop

Kia ora!

Ready to take on one of the most dynamic roles in aviation maintenance? Our Christchurch Turboprop Maintenance Operations Centre (MOC) is looking for a Maintenance Operations Controller to join the team on a permanent shift basis.

This is your chance to be right at the centre of the action — where every decision you make keeps our aircraft flying, our customers moving, and our airline performing at its best.

What you’ll do:

No two days are the same. You’ll be:

  • Monitoring and managing the online engineering operation in real time
  • Solving problems under pressure and finding proactive engineering solutions
  • Working alongside a wide network of internal and external stakeholders to keep our fleet safe, compliant, and ready to fly
  • Playing a direct role in ensuring maximum aircraft availability, utilisation, and on-time performance

What we’re looking for:

This role is for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. If you enjoy thinking on your feet, balancing multiple priorities, and keeping calm when the pressure is on, this could be the perfect fit.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Current ATR type authorisation. (Q300 is also highly desirable)
  • Experience in Light Maintenance or Line Maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of NZCAA and other aviation regulations
  • Familiarity with Air New Zealand’s Policies and Procedures
  • Sharp attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the confidence to make critical decisions in the moment

Why join us?

At Air New Zealand, we want our people to live their best lives — in and out of work. You’ll enjoy:

  • Discounted flights for you and your whānau to explore the world
  • Access to wellbeing tools, including our EAP programme and Wellbeing Hub
  • Southern Cross health insurance at a discounted group rate
  • A workplace savings scheme with up to 4% matching contributions
  • A learning culture that supports your growth and next career step

This isn’t just another job — it’s an opportunity to put your skills to the test at the frontline of airline operations. Every day you’ll face new challenges, make a real impact, and help keep Air New Zealand’s fleet flying safely and on time.

If you’re ready to step up to the challenge, apply online now with your CV and cover letter.

Applications Close - 3rd November 2025
