Materials QA Inspector

Kia ora!

Are you passionate about precision and quality in aviation? Join our Auckland Supply Chain Operations team as a Materials Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector and play a vital role in keeping our fleet — and our customers’ aircraft — flying safely and efficiently.

How you’ll make an impact

As a QA Inspector, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all incoming aircraft parts, materials and components — including those externally repaired — meet strict compliance standards before being released for use. You’ll be the gatekeeper of quality, balancing meticulous inspection with the urgency of operational timeframes.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Inspecting and certifying aircraft parts and components to ensure full compliance with regulatory and company standards
  • Reviewing documentation such as Service Bulletins and approved data to validate product integrity
  • Managing tight processing deadlines to support timely aircraft availability
  • Collaborating with internal teams to resolve quality issues and maintain operational flow
  • Upholding safety, performance and customer service standards in every task
  • Managing quarantined articles to resolution

What we’re looking for

You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:

  • A completed Aircraft Engineering trade or equivalent qualification, plus 5 years aviation trade experience
  • Authorisation to certify aircraft or aircraft components
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong quality focus
  • Proficiency in SAP and technical documentation review
  • Clear communication skills across all levels of the business
  • A proactive, self-starting attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team

What we can offer you

At Air New Zealand, we look after our people. In this role, you’ll enjoy:

  • Opportunities to grow your career in aviation quality and supply chain operations
  • Access to industry-leading training and development
  • A supportive team culture
  • Staff travel benefits and discounts across our global network

If you’re ready for a new challenge, apply now via the Air New Zealand Careers site with your up-to-date CV.

Applications close - 4th August 2025
