Operations Improvement Lead

We have a permanent opportunity for an Operations Improvement Lead within our Aircraft Maintenance and Delivery team.  The key focus for this role will be to Lead the Operations Improvement Team in the delivery of the Improvement reporting (IR) process to facilitate sustainable continuous improvement (CI) within AMD. 

In this role you will lead the Operations Improvement team to facilitate IR scoping, CI analysis, stakeholder engagement to ensure improvement requirements are fully explored and understood, and that the IR objective is aligned to business and stakeholder goals. You will provide effective and efficient governance and prioritisation of IR activities, and through the Team enable the delivery of Improvement activities by providing coaching, guidance, and facilitation to enable our people to solve and implement identified opportunities.  

 To be successful in the role we are looking for candidates with: 

  • Business and industry acumen particularly in relation to MRO / Aviation interdependencies 
  • Operations management experience with in-depth knowledge of day of ops systems, processes, and policies 
  • Strong people leadership skills and the ability to develop and lead the team to success 
  • Experience in leading change and the successful delivery of shop-floor improvement initiatives 
  • A strong understanding of CAANZ regulatory compliance framework and Air NZ’s people safety processes including SMS and risk management 
  • Ability to establish and leverage strong working relationships across all levels within the organisation including ability to influence key decision makers 
  • Demonstrated experience in leading shop-floor CI activities 
  • Understanding of agile ways of working (preferred) or adaptable with fast learning skills
