Role Overview:
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and supporting next-generation technologies that enhance our applications and data integrations. Our digital solutions must operate at a massive scale and extend well beyond just booking flights.
We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer with strong experience in API & Integration who will bring fresh ideas and expertise from various areas. In this role, you will provide thought leadership and technical guidance across the engineering team. Your deep understanding of the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, combined with your ability to lead strategic initiatives, will help guide the team and significantly impact other teams and business outcomes.
What We Look For:
- 8+ years in software engineering roles with depth of experience in Java.
- Experience presenting high-level technical designs and architecture to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven experience designing, building, and operating large-scale web applications.
- Proven ability to lead and deliver multiple projects over time.
- Experience with API gateway and/or middleware integration, including testing and support.
- Familiarity with products such as AWS, Azure, Kafka, Mule, IBM WebSphere is an advantage.
- Prior experience in development, testing, deployment, maintaining, and improving software.
- Self-motivation and a willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done.
- Adaptability and a willingness to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to thrive both in a team environment and working alone.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Participation in an on-call roster is required.
