Regulatory Assurance Specialist

Kia ora!

At Air New Zealand, we’re more than an airline – we’re an iconic Kiwi company driven by values that put safety, care, and connection at the heart of everything we do. As we continue to lead in innovation and operational excellence, we’re looking for a Regulatory Assurance Specialist (Digital Data) to join our Operations Support team and play a pivotal role in strengthening our compliance environment.

Responsible for the production, strategic assurance and transformation of digital operations and regulatory documentation to ensure enterprise-wide compliance, operational readiness, and resilience to CAA and IOSA audit scrutiny. Jointly leads structured XML-based documentation strategies and digital publishing practices across the business, enabling safe, efficient, and future-focused flight operations. Provides technical leadership across departments and is a key contributor to the evolution of Air New Zealand’s digital documentation standards, compliance systems, and assurance policies.

Why this role matters

This role is about more than managing documents – it’s about ensuring that every digital system, every piece of operational data, and every Exposition and Flight Operations document is accurate, compliant, and ready for scrutiny. You’ll bring together technical publishing expertise, data assurance, and regulatory insight to make sure we’re always compliant, audit-ready, safe, and future-focused.

By shaping how digital flight operations documentation is created, governed, and distributed, you’ll directly contribute to the safety and resilience of our airline – ensuring we remain trusted by regulators, auditors, and most importantly, our customers.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the design and governance of structured digital documentation systems and publishing workflows.
  • Ensure flight operations content meets regulatory standards and is consistently audit-ready.
  • Take part in CAA, IOSA, and internal regulatory reviews.
  • Collaborate across teams – from Safety and Engineering to Digital and Operations – bringing people on the journey to smarter, safer digital publishing.
  • Solve problems in digital data workflows with a compliance-first mindset, ensuring safety and operational readiness always come first.

What we’re looking for in you

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in technical publishing, regulatory documentation, or digital compliance environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in structured digital publishing, data systems, or aviation operational documentation.
  • A Background in aviation regulatory frameworks, flight operations documentation, or enterprise digital transformation projects would be beneficial

We’re seeking more than technical expertise – we’re looking for the right attitudes and values:

  • Safety-focused – you see compliance as a foundation of safety, not just a checkbox.
  • Detail-driven – you care about accuracy, version control, and doing things right the first time.
  • Collaborative – you’re a connector, able to engage with different teams and translate technical complexity into clear, practical solutions.
  • Innovative and adaptable – you embrace change, look for smarter ways of working, and thrive in digital transformation.
  • Integrity-led – you have a strong sense of responsibility and accountability in safety-critical environments.

Applications close at midnight on Tuesday 16 September 2025.
