Kia ora!

This is your opportunity to shape how performance and reward enables one of New Zealand's most iconic organisations to thrive. As a Remuneration Manager (People Specialist, Performance & Reward), you'll influence enterprise-wide people outcomes by designing and delivering total reward solutions that recognise performance, support engagement, and help our people do their best work. If you're passionate about combining commercial thinking with people strategy, we'd love to hear from you.

With a strong reputation for culture, service and innovation, Air New Zealand is consistently recognised as one of New Zealand's most attractive employers. Behind the scenes, our People team plays a critical role in shaping the experiences of our people and enabling business success. In this role, you'll partner with leaders across the organisation to deliver innovative performance and reward solutions that are aligned with our strategic priorities and support a high-performing, highly engaged culture.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of Air New Zealand's remuneration and reward programs, ensuring they align with enterprise reward strategy and support organisational and people outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with HR Business Partners and business leaders to understand business needs and develop practical, future-focused total rewards solutions that enhance organisational performance, engagement and employee experience.
  • Provide specialist remuneration expertise and evidence-based advice on remuneration, benefits, market benchmarking and job evaluation to support consistent, commercially sound and equitable people decisions.
  • Develop and maintain remuneration frameworks and practices, including career pathways, role architecture, pay equity and employee benefits, ensuring they remain fit for purpose and aligned with organisational needs.
  • Support remuneration governance through the preparation of reporting, regulatory disclosures, and Executive and Board papers as required, while providing data-driven insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
  • Monitor external market trends and emerging reward practices, bringing fresh thinking and recommendations to continuously strengthen Air New Zealand's total rewards approach.

What we're looking for

  • Significant experience in remuneration, benefits and reward within a large, complex organisation, ideally as a Senior Remuneration Consultant, Remuneration Manager or equivalent specialist.
  • Demonstrated expertise designing and delivering enterprise remuneration, benefits and reward programmes, including annual remuneration reviews, pay equity, career frameworks or job architecture.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate strategy into practical, business-focused solutions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and confidently advise senior leaders on complex and commercially sensitive remuneration matters.
  • Strong analytical capability, using remuneration and workforce data to generate insights and support evidence-based decision-making.
  • A tertiary qualification in business, human resources or a related discipline.
  • A collaborative and curious mindset, with a passion for continuous improvement, innovation and delivering better outcomes.

If you meet the majority of the criteria and are excited by the opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.

What we can offer you

We want our people to live their best lives and access great benefits that support their lives outside work.

  • Generous staff travel benefits for you, your friends, and your whānau.
