Air New Zealand is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our Digital Platforms Squad. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organisation's Infrastructure and Microsoft SQL Server environment.
This role involves ensuring the stability, performance, reliability and security of our Infrastructure and Microsoft SQL environment, as well as collaborating with stakeholders and supporting partners to achieve business goals.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the operational management of our Infrastructure and supporting platforms to exceed service levels.
- Implement best practices for maintenance and support of Infrastructure, including regular updates, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
- Monitor and optimise infrastructure performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement and manage security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Manage vendor partnerships and ensure third-party support services meet our ambitious standards.
- Keep our Infrastructure documentation detailed and up-to-date, tracking assets and managing software licensing.
- Collaborate to evolve and execute our Digital Platforms strategy, aligning with database strategies.
- Engage in cross-team initiatives, manage product backlogs, and coordinate with product teams to hit business targets.
- Stay ahead of digital and technology trends to maximise business opportunities.
- Contribute your subject matter expertise to blend ITIL-aligned service management with continuous delivery practices.
- Lead system enhancements and integrations, ensuring system integrity and compliance.
What You’ll Achieve:
- Secure, robust, and scalable Infrastructure and Microsoft SQL enterprise platform.
- Swift resolution of Infrastructure & database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Effective vendor management that upholds service quality.
- A clear and prioritised squad backlog in line with Agile methodologies.
Who You Are:
- A seasoned professional with 5+ year’s Infrastructure with a focus on Microsoft SQL enterprise design and administration.
- Proven experience supporting a large Microsoft Enterprise environment – Active Directory, Windows Server, Microsoft Clustering, File Services, Load Balancing, etc...
- Skilled in database enterprise infrastructure design, deployment, and management.
- Proven experience supporting Infrastructure and Microsoft SQL platforms including SCCM, SCOM, SSRS, SSIS and SSAS
- Adept in managing third-party vendors and SLAs, with a familiarity in Agile methodologies.
