Senior Risk Specialist (Privacy) - Fixed Term Contract

We’re seeking an experienced privacy professional to join our team on a fixed-term basis as a Senior Risk Specialist (Privacy). This is a parental leave cover until October 2025. You will work within a specialised privacy team located at our corporate office in Auckland and working across Air New Zealand’s diverse business units on a range of projects.  

Reporting to the Chapter Lead (Privacy) who reports to the General Counsel, you will assist in managing key components of Air New Zealand’s Privacy Programme including evaluating digital and operational projects for privacy compliance, completing Privacy Impact Assessments, advising on contractual arrangements with third parties, crafting and delivering training and awareness materials, and assisting with the management of data incidents and privacy requests.

Our ideal candidate:  

  • You will have a university degree in a relevant discipline and at least 5 years post qualification experience working in a privacy, legal, risk or compliance role, preferably within a complex, large-scale organisation
  • You will have an in-depth knowledge of privacy laws and regulations, including the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020
  • You will have strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to engage and educate stakeholders at all levels.
  • Successful candidates will be able to translate privacy laws and regulations into practical and pragmatic advice to support business objectives
  • You will need to be able to build strong relationships with internal partners and gain the trust and respect of colleagues and stakeholders to promote privacy as a business imperative and competitive advantage.
