Strategic Transformation, Planning & Delivery
Kia ora!
Air New Zealand is on an accelerated journey to deliver the best flying experience on Earth. Our purpose is to enrich our country by connecting New Zealanders to each other and New Zealand to the world. As part of our brand promise, we embrace Manaaki – taking care further than any other airline and creating meaningful experiences that empower and connect.
We’re passionate about delivering value, working end-to-end, and prioritising what matters most. Our Quarterly Business Review (QBR) cycle sits at the heart of this and provides a key orchestration engine for our planning, coordination and performance.
About the Role
We are seeking a QBR Specialist to join us in this engine room to drive enterprise-wide alignment, performance and value.
This isn’t your standard planning, commercial or transformation role. We’re looking for someone who can connect strategy to action and partner and challenge the business to sharpen focus, drive accountability, and ensure value delivery.
With a unique enterprise-wide vantage point in an iconic organisation, you’ll be hands-on in shaping how our business units prioritise and deliver. From challenging OKRs and KPIs to facilitating key decisions, you’ll bring clarity, focus and discipline to decision-making.
You won’t just run the QBR process – you’ll continually improve it, making planning smarter, easier and more impactful.
You’ll partner with leaders at all levels to understand and embrace the QBR cycle, helping leaders and teams lift their capability, align around shared goals, and deliver outcomes that matter.
Key Responsibilities
Some of the ways you’ll make an impact include:
Facilitate and optimise outcomes from the QBR cycle, ensuring quarterly OKRs and longer-term value roadmaps are aligned to strategic goals.
Review and challenge business unit OKRs and KPIs, ensuring ambition, measurability and robust reporting frameworks are in place and driving performance.
Support key trade-off decisions, ensuring capacity and capability are directed to create the most value.
Lead the preparation and delivery of QBR events, bringing structure and focus to complex conversations.
Continuously improve templates, processes, guides and tools that enable smooth quarterly and annual planning and delivery cycles.
Deliver training to uplift organisational capability in planning and prioritisation.
Build strong relationships with senior leaders, providing both support and constructive challenge to drive better outcomes.
Experience & Skills
Strong mix of analytical and interpersonal skills, and genuine energy for driving enterprise value and performance.
Naturally strategic and commercial, with strong financial literacy and problem-solving skills.
Experience working within top tier corporate environments, including partnering and exposure to operational stakeholders.
Outstanding attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills to coordinate multiple moving parts to tight timelines.
Proven stakeholder engagement and influencing experience at all levels, including working directly with senior leadership in high stakes environments.
Skilled facilitator and business partner, able to build capability and alignment across teams.
Confidence using systems and tools such as Sentient, ADO, Miro and Microsoft Office – with direct experience in portfolio value management and performance reporting highly valued.
A relevant university degree and strong digital dexterity.
Why this Role?
This is a unique opportunity to shape how Air New Zealand plans, prioritises, delivers strategy and drives performance. You’ll have a unique vantage point across the entire organisation, form impactful relationships at senior levels, and be able to see the results of your work in tangible ways.
If you want to play a pivotal role in how strategy becomes action, and action becomes real value, we’d love to hear from you.
This role will close at 11:59pm on Sunday, 23 November.
Please note that we will be reviewing and contacting candidates as applications are received, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible if you’re interested.
At Air New Zealand, we are proudly committed to diversity, equity and inclusion and believe in creating a truly inclusive workplace where everyone can be themselves and thrive. Our people are our greatest asset – because while everything else we do in our operation can be replicated by our competitors, it is our people that truly set us apart. We are firm believers in celebrating the differences and diversity of thought our people bring to their roles. We encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds, including those with a disability, additional health and mental health needs, and/or are neurodiverse to apply for our roles.
