Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Electrical/Avionics Components
Kia ora!
Components & APU Christchurch are on the lookout for an experienced Electrical/Avionics Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to support both Air New Zealand operations and our valued third-party customers. Our Components team plays a key role in maintaining the Airline’s operational resilience, while also driving revenue through external maintenance contracts.
We’re after someone who is self-motivated, quality-driven and comfortable working as part of a tight-knit team to meet OTP/TAT targets - always with safety and operational integrity at the forefront. You’ll need to be able to deliver high-quality work within tight timeframes and adapt to the varied demands of the workshop.
Strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build effective working relationships across the business. You’ll bring a solid customer focus, excellent time management, and a good understanding of aircraft systems.
To be considered for this role, you’ll need:
- A relevant trade qualification as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (or equivalent)
- Preferably, experience in Electrical Component and/or Avionic Systems maintenance
- Demonstrated teamwork with a drive for achieving results
- Confidence working within a highly regulated environment
- A strong commitment to Health & Safety and our Safety Management System
- A mindset for Continuous Improvement and 5S practices.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our day-shift workshop team. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. Please apply via the Air New Zealand Careers page.
Applications close Sunday 18th January 2026.
