Senior Product Manager
Kia ora!
Air New Zealand is on an accelerated journey to deliver the best flying experience on Earth. As we accelerate our transformation of the customer experience, we’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the evolution of how our customers pay.
About the Role
This is an important role that combines product strategy, commercial acumen and technical depth, with clear accountability for product outcomes and performance. You’ll define the roadmap for key products and capabilities, driving initiatives that simplify and elevate how customers pay while delivering measurable customer, commercial and operational value. This role plays a key part in shaping how Air New Zealand enables seamless, secure and scalable payment experiences across its ecosystem.
The Senior Product Manager is the voice of the customer, championing customer experience and business value with a strong focus on outcomes. With a deep understanding of customers, commercial outcomes, operational processes and technology, this role is responsible for setting product vision and strategy, shaping investment and prioritisation decisions, and owning the end-to-end product lifecycle, from discovery through to performance and continuous improvement.
This role will suit someone who is naturally curious, commercially minded and confident navigating ambiguity and complexity. You’ll be comfortable working at pace in an interconnected airline environment, building trust and strong partnerships across digital, finance, technology, operations and commercial teams, as well as with external partners and vendors.
This is a senior role, requiring significant depth of experience in product leadership, strategic decision-making and influencing in complex environments.
About you
You’ll bring extensive experience in senior product management, with a proven ability to set clear product direction and translate strategy into prioritised roadmaps and measurable outcomes. You’re equally comfortable operating at a strategic level and working hands-on with teams to realise value iteratively. You will also:
Have a strong outcome orientation and consistently apply a customer and value lens to decision-making.
Demonstrate proven product craft, including setting product vision, strategy and roadmaps, and delivering outcomes across the product lifecycle.
Bring strong commercial acumen, with experience developing business cases and working with partners or vendors.
Be comfortable leading complex, cross-functional initiatives across large organisations.
Have experience working in or adjacent to complex transactional or regulated domains (such as payments, banking, platforms, data or digital commerce), with the ability to quickly build domain depth.
Have a unique balance of vision and pragmatism – able to push the envelope while working closely with delivery teams to realise value iteratively.
Demonstrate excellent stakeholder influencing and storytelling skills, with credibility across senior leaders and diverse partners.
Thrive in ambiguity, and enjoy solving complex problems at scale.
Be a strong collaborator and product leader who advocates for outcomes and brings others along the journey.
Why Air New Zealand
This is an opportunity to lead at the intersection of travel, commerce and technology within one of New Zealand’s most iconic brands. You’ll shape how millions of customers experience seamless, secure and intuitive payment journeys across Air New Zealand’s digital and operational channels.
You’ll lead a critical product domain, working within a supportive and ambitious product community that collaborates closely to deliver meaningful outcomes for our customers and for Air New Zealand.
If you’re ready to help shape the next chapter of Air New Zealand’s digital future, apply today.
Applications for this role close Sunday 15 February at 11:59pm.
