Back of House (BOH) Training Lead - Auckland

We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Back of House (BOH) Training Leader to join our dynamic Auckland Airports team. 

In this pivotal role, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping the development and delivery of key regulatory training, driving excellence in our Airport On-Job Trainers for our teams in Baggage, Ramp and Cleaning.

What your role will involve: 

  • Leading, inspiring, and developing the Airport On-Job Trainer team, fostering a high-performance culture while ensuring seamless compliance with business requirements, regulations and industry standards. Your leadership will directly contribute to building a team that sets the bar for excellence and you will help support ensuring they have the tools and opportunities to thrive in a high-performance environment
  • Collaborating closely with our resourcing and rostering teams, customer airlines and operational managers to swiftly identify and resolve performance issues and training gaps, ensuring adherence to regulatory and company standards. Your influence will be key in shaping the success and development of our team
  • Continuously drive improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance Airport training standards, procedures and practices. Your recommendations will help elevate training outcomes, boost efficiency and maximize cost-effectiveness across the board
  • Cultivating strong relationships both internally and externally, offering expert advice and support to ensure the successful delivery of training services. Your ability to connect with stakeholders will be vital in creating a seamless training experience
  • Taking charge of safety and risk management, ensuring thorough identification and reporting of safety hazards, whilst also leading employee training efforts to safeguard our people, customers, assets and Air New Zealand’s esteemed brand. Your role will be instrumental in maintaining the highest safety standards and compliance
  • Planning and delivering impactful upskill and induction programs, working closely with the Ground Operations Training and Workforce Planning teams. Your foresight will ensure we have the right people, with the right skills, at the right time, driving productivity and cost-efficient rostering

What you will need to succeed:  

  • At least 3 years’ foundational experience as a Loader or Aircraft Cleaner at Air New Zealand, bringing a solid foundation of hands-on operational knowledge
  • In-depth understanding of compliance requirements in the Back-of-House environment, ensuring all processes are up to standard
  • Expert knowledge of the Ground Operations Manual and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring all activities align with best practices
  • A strong commitment to safety, with demonstrated adherence to rigorous safety standards in every aspect of your work
  • Advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Office and planning tools to create robust training plans for your team, along with an understanding of Korusafe and other digital platforms to track performance data and make informed decisions
  • Previous training and auditing experience, with an eye for detail and a drive for continuous improvement would be an advantage
  • People Leadership experience and evidence of strong relationship-building skills
