Air New Zealand Engineering and Maintenance in Christchurch has a vacancy for a permanent CNC Machinist Fitter/Turner to join their team. This is a Monday to Friday day position.
We seek a person that is committed to a safe workplace, is passionately customer focused, and who is comfortable working as part of a team. You'll be adept at thinking outside the square while meeting compliance and company legislative/regulatory standards. Strong communication skills are critical, as well as the ability to relate and interact with a wide range of people on a day-to-day basis.
The successful candidate will be a Qualified CNC Machinist Fitter/Turner employed to operate Lathes and Mills in our Machine Shop. A high level of fitting and CNC Machining skill is required to provide manufacturing support and on-aircraft repairs for both Air New Zealand and customer fleets.
Attention to detail is critical for this position. It is expected that the suitable person will be able to operate within aviation tolerances and have good understanding of aircraft drawings and processes. CNC Machining and aviation experience (preferred) is essential for this role. The successful candidate should have at least three years' experience in setting/operating CNC Machine tools and should have a detailed knowledge of Mastercam, Solidworks and TopSolid systems to program a wide variety of Aircraft components and tooling.
