Finance Specialist (External Reporting)

As a Financial Accountant (Finance Specialist (External Reporting)) within the Group Finance External Reporting team you’ll play a key role in balance sheet control, fixed asset accounting and statutory reporting. You’ll work closely with project managers, finance business partners, and auditors to ensure our reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with accounting standards.

The role you will play
- Partner with project managers to monitor capital expenditure projects, ensuring timely and accurate capitalisation
- Provide clear guidance on capitalisable costs in line with Group policy and generally accepted accounting practice
- Deliver month end fixed asset reporting, including register close, consolidation, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Support quarterly forecasting and deliver insightful analysis of depreciation against forecast
- Contribute to the preparation of Group financial statements, including providing high quality supporting workpapers
- Coordinate audit information requests and liaise with internal and external auditors to support efficient audit outcomes
- Assist with overseeing balance sheet controls across the Group.
What we’re looking for
- A chartered accounting qualification, or currently in the final stages of studying towards completion, with a relevant tertiary qualification in accounting
- At least three years’ experience in an accounting role, working in either a large complex organisation or a chartered accounting firm
- Preferred experience with fixed assets and statutory reporting
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Confident communication skills that enable you to build credibility and influence stakeholders
- Solid spreadsheet capability and a proactive, improvement focused mindset.
