Indirect Channel Training and Engagement Manager (Senior Sales Specialist)

Reporting to the Senior Sales Manager (Chapter Lead) Retail/TMC, as Indirect Channel Training and Engagement Manager (Senior Sales Specialist) you will develop and deliver training and support to our valued Air New Zealand trade partners as well as the internal sales teams. You will support the ongoing commercial viability of the business and maximise revenue and yield opportunities through developing training tools and solutions and providing technical and product support.

The role you will play: 

  • Development and delivery of effective technical, product and service training materials and sessions to the New Zealand indirect distribution channel that is aligned with the business objectives of the New Zealand region.
  • Execution, development and effectively manage Air New Zealand's online training platform for New Zealand region indirect trade partners.
  • Development of a national trade engagement programme in co-operation with the Market Development and Sales Teams specific to each distribution channel to drive consultant engagement levels and preference for Air New Zealand.
  • Develop training material, presentations, and tools specific to the requirements of the channel sales teams within the NZ Sales Chapter.

Essential to this role will be your outstanding communication, training and relationship building skills along with a high degree of operational capability. You will be confident, resilient, flexible and possess strong sales capability, combined with the ability to challenge the status quo and deliver on results. You will understand your client's needs and challenges and are fully committed to partnering with them to provide a world-class solution.

This is an Auckland based role.

Ideally you will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience fares and ticketing, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience, preferably in International Travel with a sales or operational background.
  • Ability to problem solve and to make logical and well-reasoned decisions.
  • Confident and dynamic presentation skills with the ability to facilitate and capture the attention of small, large and online audiences.
  • The stature, knowledge, personality and communication skills to rapidly gain credibility with managers, both internally and externally, and to influence key decision makers.
  • High degree of knowledge and experience in the airline environment.
  • Creative with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Very strong customer focus with the attitude to do “whatever it takes to get the job done”.
