Shape Air New Zealand’s capital markets story

We’re looking for an Investor Relations Senior Manager to join our Corporate Finance team, reporting to the Head of Investor Relations. This is a high impact role with significant exposure to senior leadership, the Board and the broader investment community.

You will lead and evolve Air New Zealand’s Investor Relations strategy, acting as a trusted advisor to the CFO, CEO and Board on capital markets positioning, investor sentiment and disclosure considerations. You will serve as a front-line representative of the airline to the investment community, partnering closely with senior leadership, Communications, Fleet and Strategy teams to shape clear, credible and consistent market messaging.

To succeed, you will combine strong financial capability with clear and compelling storytelling. You will be comfortable in a fast moving, deadline driven environment and confident engaging with senior executives, research analysts and institutional investors.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead financial reporting delivery: plan and deliver interim and annual results materials, including media releases and analyst presentations, coordinating cross functional inputs to ensure accurate and cohesive communications.
  • Drive investor engagement: engage analysts and institutional investors through roadshows, conferences, investor days and the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting to strengthen understanding of our performance and strategy.
  • Shape the capital markets narrative: educate the market on airline economics, valuation drivers and capital allocation, building a clear and credible investment proposition.
  • Provide market intelligence and insight: analyse share price movements, analyst models, peer performance and shareholder ownership, advising senior leadership on market perception, risk considerations and capital markets positioning.
  • Ensure disclosure excellence: manage operating statistics releases, market disclosures and the investor centre website, working closely with Communications to maintain transparency and alignment.

What we’re looking for

  • 10 plus years professional experience, with at least 5 years in investor relations, fund management, equity research.
  • Direct Investor Relations experience preferred, though strong capital markets exposure will be considered
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior executives on capital markets strategy or disclosure considerations within a listed environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong financial modelling literacy and analytical capability.
  • Impeccable judgement and integrity when handling sensitive financial and strategic information within a listed environment.
  • Self-led, hands on and comfortable navigating complexity and nuance.

It provides enterprise-wide visibility across strategy, fleet investment and capital allocation, with direct engagement across global investors, government stakeholders and senior leadership.
