Manager - Regional Airports

We are looking for a dynamic, senior people leader who is focused on ensuring a high level of operational integrity and regulatory compliance. Our 17 regional airports are the backbone to our domestic network – they are the New Zealand of Air New Zealand.

Reporting to the Head of Regional Airports, we're looking for a results driven professional who will work proactively across a portfolio of our regional airports which includes our third party ground handling contractors. Your role will be to support the Head of Regional Airports as we continue to improve our operational performance and delivery objectives. While responsible for a number of ports you will also be supporting the broader airports team with leadership, GSE, emergency response etc and providing effective oversight of a 365 operation.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have knowledge and experience in the airport operations environment providing leadership support with a high safety focus
  • Have a strong understanding of airport regulatory requirements, SOP’s and brand standards 
  • Demonstrate excellent people leadership skills and have the ability to coach and develop individuals for success
  • Be skilled in relationship building and creating stakeholder engagement as well as displaying strong business acumen with good commercial skills
  • Be adept at identifying improvements and efficiencies
  • Be able to think strategically and maintain a long-term outlook
  • Have excellent collaboration skills with the ability to influence positive outcomes at all levels
  • Have the ability to travel through NZ as required

This role requires regular travel between our NZ airports and the ability to lead a geographically diverse team that are capable of operating autonomously. Due to the nature of this role, flexibility as to location will be considered.
