Kia ora!

Help shape the future of aviation engineering.

We're looking for an experienced Pre Employment Programme Specialist to support the next generation of aviation engineering talent. In this role, you'll help learners build the skills, confidence and connections they need to begin rewarding careers at Air New Zealand. By combining programme expertise with genuine care for people, you'll create a positive learner experience while strengthening our future engineering workforce.

You'll join a team committed to developing early careers pathways that connect education with meaningful employment opportunities. With a strong reputation for innovation, service and culture, Air New Zealand is consistently recognised as one of New Zealand's most attractive employers. This is your opportunity to make a lasting impact on people at the beginning of their aviation journey.

The role you will play

  • Lead the coordination of our Level 3 pre-employment pathway, ensuring programme milestones, communications, events and learner transitions are well planned and delivered
  • Provide pastoral care and ongoing support to learners, monitoring progress, identifying risks early and coordinating interventions that help participants succeed
  • Apply your knowledge of NZQA, TEC and PTE requirements to maintain accurate learner records, funding information, reporting and audit-ready documentation
  • Build strong relationships with schools, tertiary providers, recruitment, operational leaders and other stakeholders to attract talent and strengthen our early careers pipeline
  • Use programme data, budgets and participant insights to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement across our early careers pathways.

What we're looking for

  • Practical experience within the New Zealand tertiary or vocational education sector, including sound knowledge of NZQA, TEC and PTE requirements
  • Experience coordinating learner, pre-employment, apprenticeship, internship or graduate programmes, with strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated pastoral care experience, with the confidence and judgement to support learners through a range of situations
  • Confidence using systems and data to manage programme performance, maintain accurate records and support funding or budget requirements
  •  A continuous improvement mindset, a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience. Experience with traineeships, apprenticeships or graduate programmes would be an advantage.

If you meet the majority of the criteria and are excited by the opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.

What we can offer you
We want our people to live their best lives and access great benefits that support their lives outside work.

  • Discounted staff travel for you, your friends and whānau
  • FlexiLeave, giving you the option to purchase up to four additional weeks of leave each year
  • A strong learning culture with opportunities to grow your career while making a meaningful impact
  • Wellbeing support, including our Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing resources
  • Access to a wide range of work perks and discounts across travel, retail, banking and more.

Sounds like you? Apply today!

This is a unique opportunity to combine your tertiary education expertise with one of New Zealand's most recognised aviation organisations. You'll help shape the experience of future aviation engineers while strengthening the pathways that connect education with rewarding careers.

If you're passionate about developing people, building successful programmes and creating opportunities for the next generation, we'd love to hear from you.

Applications close Sunday 27th September 2026.
