Product Manager
This job has now closed.
Air New Zealand is on an accelerated journey to deliver the best flying experience on Earth. Our purpose is to enrich our country through connecting New Zealanders to each other and New Zealand to the world. As a brand promise, we endeavour to offer Manaaki to all of our employees and customers – taking care further than any other airline and creating compelling experiences that empower and connect. We expect to lead a significant transformation of our customer experience and product portfolio over the coming years, and we're searching for a Product Manager to join us who will be instrumental in driving and realising key elements of that vision.
The Product Manager is the voice of the customer and champions user experience and business value, with a core focus on delivering product outcomes. With a deep understanding of customers, commercial outcomes, operational processes and technology, this role is responsible for developing a product vision, formulating strategy, designing the product roadmap, and working closely with business partners to deliver against it.
This role will suit someone who is naturally curious with a strategic mindset, whilst also being prepared to get into the detail. There will be a level of ambiguity you'll need to be comfortable with, coupled with complexity of the airline environment and the pace at which we work. Your desire to get the best outcome for our customers will help you drive outcomes, and you'll have demonstrated you can work with various business stakeholders, building trust and partnerships across a wide group.
For this role we’re looking for someone who is highly commercially astute, with a good understanding of core airline and/or loyalty economics. You’ll be working at the intersection of driving both Loyalty, airline and customer value, making sure we’re maximising value for each of these stakeholders across Airpoints Dollar redemptions and our broader airline rewards ecosystem. Alongside this, we’re also looking for someone with demonstrated product experience, with the ability take new products and propositions to market, and manage these products throughout the product lifecycle.
Our successful candidate:
- Has an outcome orientation, places a customer lens on all that they do
- Demonstrates strong commercial acumen, with experience identifying and leveraging market opportunities to drive product profitability and achieve business outcomes
- Has a unique balance of vision and pragmatism. We want someone who will push the envelope and work with delivery teams to get value to our customers quickly
- Has a proven track record of taking ownership, creating product visions and strategies, and delivering meaningful outcomes
- Brings strong storytelling capability, championing product outcomes, strategy and roadmaps across diverse partners including technical, commercial, operations and external
- Demonstrates experience driving product outcomes across the lifecycle, and within an agile environment
- Is strategic, creative and an analytic thinker
- Is a strong innovator and communicator who collaborates, initiates, advocates and influences effectively, with demonstrated relationship building capabilities.
In return, you'll be involved in bringing to life new and innovative customer products and propositions or taking our existing Air New Zealand products to the next level. You'll be driving the future of our customer proposition across a portfolio of products, and ensuring this can be operationalised. You'll join a supportive team who all work collaboratively together to achieve great things for our customers and Air New Zealand.
Please apply now via our Careers site with your CV and updated cover letter. Applications cannot be received via email.
