Resilience Specialist (Emergency Management)

Are you passionate about capability development and continuous improvement? Join Air New Zealand as a Resilience Specialist (Emergency Management) and play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our emergency management system.

Air New Zealand has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled individual to join our Security and Resilience team within the Safety and Risk Centre of Excellence. This role focuses on ensuring readiness for emergencies by developing our emergency management workforce through training, exercises and corrective actions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Review and maintain emergency management doctrine
  • Facilitate workshops to enhance organisational resilience
  • Support risk reduction initiatives and improve policies
  • Maintain readiness dashboards and track training
  • Ensure effective response procedures and maintain equipment
  • Provide expert advice and build strong relationships
  • Prepare post-incident reports and support investigations.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 2-3 years of experience in emergency management
  • Working knowledge of the Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS)
  • Technical proficiency in the use of Microsoft and other information systems
  • A positive attitude and ability to build and maintain effective relationships
  • Proven experience in exercise development and workshop facilitation
  • Ability to work under pressure in complex emergency situations
  • A tertiary qualification in emergency management or related discipline.

Special Requirements:

  • Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents and be able to obtain and maintain a national security clearance
  • This role involves participation in an on-call duty system, including availability outside regular working hours and on public holidays.
