Risk and Assurance Specialist

An opportunity exists for a risk professional to join Air New Zealand's Digital Risk and Assurance Team and work in one of the most innovative and complex Digital environments in New Zealand.   

You will be an integral member of the Digital Risk and Assurance team, ensuring that key IT risks are properly identified and managed, enabling the airline’s digital vision.

What you will do:

  • Assist in identifying and assessing IT risks by working with key stakeholders.
  • Help develop and maintain IT risk profiles, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Support the review of key IT controls through identified key metrics
  • Contribute to improving IT processes, suggesting opportunities for consistency and efficiency.
  • Promote a strong risk culture by raising awareness of risk management principles.
  • Collaborate with other internal risk functions when required, helping ensure alignment with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and track IT remediation activities, following up to ensure any identified risks are addressed in a timely manner.

This exciting opportunity will give you significant experience in a unique industry. You will work across cross-functional teams and possess the ability to understand and influence a complex IT landscape.

What you will bring to this role:

  • You have 3-4 years’ experience in risk management, IT internal or external audit role with in-depth knowledge of IT risk profiles and industry control frameworks.
  • You have experience with Big 4 professional services firms, IT internal risk function, security or alternative complex corporate environment. Experience with aviation industry is preferred but not essential.
  • You have the ability to partner with the key stakeholders and maintain effective working relationships across the business.
  • You have a keen interest in emerging AI technologies and are curious about how AI can be applied to enhance risk management and streamline business processes.
