Senior Manager - Next Gen Retail Product

Kia ora!

Air New Zealand's purpose is to enrich our country by connecting New Zealanders to each other and New Zealand to the world, and as a brand promise, we endeavour to offer Manaaki to all our employees and customers - taking care further than any other airline. Our goal is to create compelling experiences that empower and connect, and we expect to lead a significant transformation of the customer retail experience over the coming years.

We are looking for a Senior Manager for Next Gen Retail Product to join us, in a role that will be instrumental in leading and realising key elements of the product vision of developing the best airline retail experience. This role will suit a self-starter, who is naturally curious and prepared to get into the detail whilst having strong stakeholder management and strategy experience.

This role will be the voice of the customer and champion business value and customer experience, coupled with the ability to deliver exceptional outcomes. With a deep understanding of online retail, customers, business processes and technology, this role is responsible for developing the product vision, formulating the strategy and product roadmap, stakeholder engagement and working in a cross-functional team to deliver our next-generation retail experience!

There will be a level of ambiguity you will need to be comfortable with, coupled with the complexity of the airline environment and the pace at which we work. Your curious nature will help you drive outcomes, and you will have demonstrated that you can work with a broad set of stakeholders, building trust and partnerships across a wide group.

Our successful candidate:

  • Must have strong experience leading and/or managing eCommerce and retailing digital platforms.
  • Has a proven track record of taking ownership, strong stakeholder management, driving the product vision, and working with cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes.
  • Experience in driving business cases and managing the RFP process.
  • Experience in offer and order management, and/or product catalogue management.
  • Puts an internal and external customer lens on all that you do.
  • Has a unique balance of vision and pragmatism. We want someone who will push the envelope but work with delivery teams to get value to our customers quickly.
  • Brings a unique storytelling capability to how you champion the product vision and roadmap with a broad group of partners including commercial, operations, technical and external.
  • Has excellent stakeholder influencing skills and is comfortable navigating multiple complex business units and maintaining strong commercial relationships with external vendors.
  • Strategic, creative, and analytic thinker.
  • Strong leader and communicator who collaborates, initiates, advocates and influences effectively.

If this sounds like an exciting opportunity to you, please apply now via our Careers site with your CV and cover letter.
