Treasury Accountant (Finance Specialist) - Treasury

An opportunity has arisen to join our Group Finance team as a Treasury Accountant (Finance Specialist (Treasury). The role is responsible for undertaking treasury accounting functions with a focus on hedge accounting and back-office processes including month-end reporting, forecasting and project initiatives.  As part of the team, you will support daily settlements and provide input into statutory reporting processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end treasury accounting and hedging processes for interest rate and fuel
  • Prepare treasury-related forecast information and analysis
  • Analyse and present hedge accounting impact on the monthly results
  • Support treasury related statutory reporting and external audit information requests
  • Ensure strong balance sheet controls through preparation of general ledger reconciliations
  • Respond to ad-hoc treasury related queries and requests
  • Support treasury payments authorisations and provide back-up functions for the Settlements Officer
  • Ensure that new and existing systems, processes, procedures and work practices are continuously improved
  • Support project work including those associated with treasury systems (Quantum and Reval)

To be considered you will be tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline with a Chartered Accountants (or equivalent) qualification.  You will be expected to have a minimum of four years work experience. Ideally you will have previous commercial experience in a large corporate with a treasury background. 

You will succeed in this role if you have a strong analytical focus, have attention to detail, are deadline focused, a lateral thinker, have excellent communication skills, and are comfortable dealing with multiple systems.  You will also have excellent relationship management skills and enjoy working within a close-knit team.
