Senior Marketing Technology Specialist

Kia ora!

Air New Zealand is in the midst of an exciting and ambitious marketing technology transformation. With recent investments in next-generation platforms like Hightouch for real-time customer data activation and other core marketing technology platforms to enable personalised, cross-channel communications, we're fundamentally reimagining how we connect with our customers.

Over the coming years, AI will play a pivotal role in shaping how we optimise journeys, automate decisions, and deliver value at every touchpoint. We're building a future-ready Martech function, and we need innovative, AI-curious thinkers who are excited to explore emerging capabilities, from predictive decisioning to generative content and marketing automation powered by machine learning.

If you're passionate about customer experience, deeply curious about AI and motivated to work at the intersection of data, creativity, and technology - alongside a fun, driven, slightly quirky team of highly talented humans - we’d love to have you onboard.

What this role means to us:

As a Senior Martech Specialist at Air New Zealand, you will play a key leadership role in shaping our customer communications capability through marketing technology. You’ll be a strategic thinker and technical doer, working across squads and tribes to influence technology decisions, drive roadmap planning, and support the delivery of seamless, data-driven customer experiences at scale.

You will lead the optimisation and governance of our key Martech platforms and support the evolution of our campaign orchestration, segmentation, personalisation, and decisioning capabilities. You'll also play a central role in managing vendors, evaluating new tools and aligning our Martech infrastructure with broader digital and customer strategies.

Essential skills and experience for the role:

  • 10+ years in a Martech, Marketing Operations, or Marketing Engineering role
  • Strong working knowledge of CDPs (e.g. Hightouch, Segment) and data ecosystems (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery)
  • Advanced experience with enterprise-grade marketing automation platforms
  • Experience influencing platform selection and architecture decisions, including building business cases.
  • Familiarity with modern data stack tooling (e.g. dbt)
  • Skilled at stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Solid understanding of data protection regulations and customer data governance
  • Demonstrated interest or practical experience using AI/ML tools in marketing, such as predictive modelling, content generation, or journey decisioning
  • Familiarity with AI applications in marketing automation, next-best-action models, or customer intelligence platforms
  • Experience or interest in networking/cyber security is desirable but not necessary
  • Bonus:
  • Experience evaluating or implementing AI-powered tools within enterprise environments
  • Experience working in Agile squads and/or marketing squads in a scaled enterprise, possibly as Product Owner of a squad

If this sounds like the opportunity for you, please submit an updated resume (cover letter not required) indicating your reason for applying and how your skills and experience match the role requirements.

Applications close 22/08/2025.
