Network Planning Manager (Senior Specialist - Network Planning)

Air New Zealand is looking for a Network Planning Manager (Internal job title: Senior Specialist - Network Planning). 

Sitting in our commercial Networks Planning team, the role is responsible for the development and ongoing optimisation of Air New Zealand's capacity plan. Working across multiple business units, this role is focused on delivering on Air New Zealand's commercial and operational objectives, with a strong focus on profitability. In addition, you will partner with senior leaders and provide expertise, guidance, and consultation across the business to support strategic decision-making, strategy development, and business planning.    

You will work in a cross-functional team to:

  • Develop capacity plans that deliver on Air New Zealand's commercial and operational objectives.
  • Analyse network improvements and projected impact on revenue and cost, communicating recommendations to Senior Leaders.
  • Provide timely and accurate planning information, including commentary on key business drivers, to enhance decision making and future planning.
  • Monitor and analyse competitor activity, deciphering implications for our network.
  • Develop strong relationships with relevant internal groups to ensure alignment on capacity plans, and sufficient resources are available to deliver proposed schedules.
  • Develop and/or maintain systems to record relevant information for reporting and planning.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong experience in an analytical or quantitative role, comfortable using Excel
  • A self-starter with a curious mind and willingness to learn
  • A collaborative approach who enjoys working in a team
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
