Senior Finance Analyst

Air New Zealand has a clear and compelling strategy to deliver improved business performance, resulting in sustainable, profitable growth across the Air New Zealand Group. We're looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join us at our Auckland Airport campus in a full-time permanent position.

Your role will support the Finance division, providing insightful analysis and reporting to influence key business strategic plans and business objectives within Air New Zealand.   

As a Senior Finance Analyst (Finance Specialist), you will contribute to the wider Finance team by providing timely, accurate and innovative analysis to build revenue forecasts and reports. You will also be a part of the Group internal reporting team, where you will get the opportunity to learn and work in collaboration with others outside of your immediate team.  

What we are looking for: 

  • Strong reporting and analytical skills will enable you to understand and communicate trends with your key stakeholders.  
  • As a strong communicator, you will form positive relationships that will help you work alongside a variety of stakeholders successfully.  
  • You will be able to think outside the box, challenge the status quo and strive for continuous improvement.  
  • 4+ years commercial and analytical experience preferred.
  • Expertise in MS Excel skills, combined with data analytics skills will see you building timely and accurate reports that will contribute to the wider Finance team.  
  • A sound understanding of Power BI & Power Pivot is preferred but not necessary.  
  • CA/CPA or equivalent qualification complete or in progress would be beneficial. 

Key Outputs: 

  • Deliver sound financial analysis, interpretation, insights, and commentary to managers to assist in business decision making and to enable understanding key business drivers and their impact on profitability.
  • Champion best practice around internal controls, timeliness, and accuracy of reporting to ensure financial data and practices are compliant and world class.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers to ensure business objectives are understood and quality, relevant support and analysis is provided.
  • Develop and maintain robust forecast models to enable forward planning and decision-making process.
  • Provide quality processes to track, analyse and report on performance to ensure analysis and data utilises best practice.
  • Complete quarterly forecasts and annual budgets to ensure accurate and timely information is available to aid decision making.
  • Create and monitor a disciplined business practices and a strong control environment to ensure business is compliant with all regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a robust Financial Plan accurately covering all aspects of the portfolio, to ensure accurate and timely information is available to aid decision making.
  • are followed, regulations are complied with, and customer service standards are met.
