Air New Zealand's Supply Chain team has permanent opportunities available in Auckland for experienced Supply Planning Specialists (SPS) within the Maintenance Operations Center (MOC) - Materials, Supply Planning Chapter. These are shift-based roles, with the current shift pattern running from 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM and 2:30 PM – 11:30 PM.
Maintenance Operations Supply Planning Specialists are responsible for:
- Serving as the single point of contact for all materials required for maintenance on operational aircraft across the network, ensuring support for a 24/7 operation.
- Conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions with relevant teams to prevent recurring stockouts at line stations.
- Managing all necessary actions outside normal hours to ensure the availability of materials for operational line, light, and heavy maintenance needs (AOG only).
- Providing sourcing solutions to identify the most effective procurement options.
- Coordinating with relevant staff to assess capability and risks associated with supplying materials on an AOG basis to other airlines and arranging material supply where approved.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Ensure materials are ordered, borrowed, shipped, and made available at the required locations to support scheduled aircraft maintenance, including MELs and logged items.
- Maintain adequate stock levels across the network to meet operational needs while minimizing costs.
- Coordinate the actions of Purchasing, Supply Planning Specialists (SPS), and Logistics to ensure timely material supply. Place purchase orders for critical supply issues in consultation with product line purchasing/SPS staff.
- Provide round-the-clock sourcing solutions to quickly resolve material issues.
- Fulfil third-party airline AOG requests where approved, including initiating sale/loan documents and arranging for parts to be picked and shipped.
- Prevent operational disruptions by ensuring clear and accurate specifications for vendors and service providers.
- Identify opportunities to enhance supply planning processes and tools within assigned areas.
We are seeking resourceful planners who thrive in fast-paced environments, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, and possess excellent influencing skills. Technical proficiency in MS Office, spreadsheets, email, and SAP ERP is essential.
