We are seeking a Workforce Planner to join our Workforce Rostering Chapter for Aircraft Maintenance and Delivery (AMD) AKL and help shape the future of operational workforce rostering in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
As a key member of the Workforce Rostering AMD AKL Chapter, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day and short-term planning of our Aircraft Maintenance workforce. This includes rostering, training coordination, leave and medical appointment management, qualification tracking, and managing staff movements — all to ensure we have the right people, in the right place, at the right time.
The role you will play:
- Develop, maintain, and optimise operational rosters that support safe and efficient delivery of maintenance activity.
- Manage and coordinate leave requests to ensure accurate planning, workforce coverage, and compliance with operational and contractual requirements.
- Process staff movements, including secondments, transfers, and role changes, to support operational continuity and workforce planning.
- Build strong operational training plans, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Plan and schedule medical appointments in conjunction with 3rd party contractors.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, seeking creative and more efficient ways of working.
- Work collaboratively across teams to identify workforce gaps and proactively develop solutions.
- Support daily operational changes with agility and a can-do attitude.
You will succeed in this role if you bring:
- Experience in workforce management and operational rostering in a complex environment.
- Ability to demonstrate composure and clear decision making in high pressure situations.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of operational training schedules.
- A forward-thinking mindset with a keen eye for identifying efficiency opportunities and a strong drive for continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work well in cross functional teams.
- A willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Experience with SAP would be advantageous.
In return:
This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how we plan and deliver operational rosters and training across our Maintenance teams. You'll join a passionate, collaborative team where your ideas and expertise will help drive efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement. As part of Air New Zealand’s dynamic operational environment, you'll contribute to the success of our frontline teams and help ensure we continue to deliver safe, world-class service every day.
Applications for this role close at midnight on Thursday 24/07/2025.
