Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Q300/ATR)

Air New Zealand in Auckland have opportunities for Q300 and ATR Aircraft Engineers or Certifying/RTS Engineers to join them across full-time, day and night shift positions.

We are looking for applicants to have Q300 experience as a Certified Engineer (LAME) or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) and/or ATR 72 experience as a Certified Engineer (LAME) or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME).

As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will have a strong understanding of aircraft systems, be motivated and able to work both as an individual and as part of a team that will continue to ensure that OTP is met, without risk to safety and operational integrity.

Communication skills are important as is an ability to relate and interact with a wide range of people on a day-to-day basis while ensuring a high quality of work is maintained under tight timeframes. 

Some of the prerequisites for the position are:

  • Preferred - Qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer on Dash 8, Q300 and/or ATR 42/72-500/72-600
  • Essential - minimum 3 years' work experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork, be results focused and self-motivated
  • A commitment to Health and Safety
  • Due to our licence conversion capability, you are required to hold a CAANZ/CASA/EASA or South African licence on the ATR/Q300 series aircraft.

Applicants will have a strong understanding of the Air New Zealand Leadership behaviours; they will also have acute ability to focus on our goal of delivering Safe/Compliant/Efficient aircraft to our customers. You will support the leadership function providing mentoring of the team and will ensure that target times are met, and that cost, quality are met also all whilst ensuring that a safety culture is always in place. Additionally, you will look for opportunities to embed continuous improvement into our organisation by looking for improvement opportunities and developing solutions.

A strong customer focus and with excellent time management skills are essential. You will be able to research and understand and apply complex technical information and comply with all applicable business and industry specific legislative/regulatory requirements.

Our Benefits:

  • Base Salary starting package of $84,000-$100,000NZD excluding allowances (dependant on skillset and experience) per annum and a 4% KiwiSaver match
