Brand Communications Specialist - Shanghai

We are recruiting for a Brand Communications Specialist based in Shanghai, China.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for Air New Zealand's brand by managing social media, PR, and building partnerships in China. You'll create brand campaigns that connect with our audience, develop engaging social media content that fits our brand, and build strong relationships with media and influencers to boost our visibility and premium image.

Key role responsibilities:

  • You will support the Brand Communications Manager in executing brand strategies and integrated campaigns to enhance Air New Zealand's awareness and preference.
  • Conduct market research and identify consumer insights, opportunities to contribute to long-term brand plans aligned with Air New Zealand's objectives.
  • Work together with teams to maintain brand consistency across all platforms and oversee budgets, schedules, and resources for branding initiatives.
  • Lead and implement engaging social media content strategies that align with Air New Zealand’s brand identity and messaging.
  • Collaborate with agencies and key influencers to create dynamic, relevant content that enhances the brand’s digital presence.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize social media performance and ensure alignment with global and local business objectives.
  • Leverage a deep understanding of the travel and lifestyle media landscape in China to build and maintain proactive media relations and exploring high-impact PR opportunities involving celebrities, sponsorships, and brand partnerships that elevate Air New Zealand’s premium brand image and enhance market presence.
  • Coordinate and facilitate media events and famil trips, ensuring a seamless experience that showcases Air New Zealand’s strengths and uniqueness.

Our ideal candidate:

  • 4+ years of experience in brand communications, public relations, or social media management, ideally within travel or lifestyle industries.
  • You have a proven track record in creating and executing brand campaigns and managing social media with measurable outcomes, especially in China's digital landscape and influencer marketing.
  • Strong understanding of the social media landscape, influencer marketing, and emerging digital trends in China. You're great at communicating in English and Chinese, work well with teams, handle coordination smoothly, and take a proactive, efficient approach to making decisions and getting things done.
