Chapter Lead, Business Analysis

Due to an exciting internal move, we’re now on the lookout for a Chapter Lead - Business Analysis to join the team. We’re looking for people with strategic and innovative perspectives on the future of the Business Analysis craft, and a natural servant leadership style to empower, enable and coach our Business Analysis Chapter members. As AI continues to transform how we work, we’re seeking someone with strong awareness of AI-driven opportunities and a strategic mindset to help guide the future direction of the BA craft at Air New Zealand. 

 

Key responsibilities of the role include: 

  • The purpose of the Chapter Lead role is to set the chapter vision, build capability, promote consistency of the craft across squads and includes people management responsibilities. 

  • Continuously improve the craft of Business Analysis by evolving our chapter vision and converting strategy into actionable ways of working. 

  • Engage with Air New Zealand senior leaders creating strong business relationships that drive collaboration and delivery of the organisational strategy. 

  • Provide "servant leadership" for the teams: devising and implementing enablers; providing support where required; removing roadblocks; inspiring a growth mindset and outstanding performance. 

  • Participate in the Tribe and Chapter Leadership syncs, sharing collective responsibility for all team metrics. 

  • Devise, deploy and maintain the frameworks and "way of working" elements that drive the effectiveness of the business analysis teams. 

  • Engage with the Tribe Leads, Product Owners and Agile Coaches to maximise "flow" in relation to prioritisation, resource allocation, cross-team collaboration and end-to-end efficiency. 

  • Provide line management and coaching to the Business Analysis chapter members. 

 

Work experience and attributes required: 

  • Strategic, creative and analytical thinker, with strong perspectives on the future of the BA craft in an AI-enabled future. 

  • Proven track record of taking ownership, delivering outcomes and coaching others about best practice in business analysis. 

  • Strong experience in business analysis (or similar) at lead/ senior level. 

  • A unique balance of vision and pragmatism. We want someone who will push the envelope but work with delivery teams to get value to our customers quickly. 

  • Leading edge collaboration and relationship management skills, especially at senior management levels. 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, team-oriented, and ability to build a high performing culture. 

  • Strong innovator and communicator who leads, initiates, advocates and influences effectively.
